The mission of the Santa Maria Valley Humane Society is to provide quality, compassionate care for and find loving homes for companion animals in need, address over-population, and engage the community through education and advocacy. The SMVHS is a private non-profit organization committed to providing shelter and care for homeless cats and dogs. Our adoption program is now occupying our brand new facility at 1687 W. Stowell Road in Santa Maria.

Our adoption facility accepts pets from people who are no longer able to care for them and we work diligently on finding these pets a new, “forever” home. We also have a clinic that provides very low cost spaying and neutering for dogs and cats in our community.
